As the air which we breathe becomes more and more polluted the government goes out of its way to deny clean air to its citizens. A government spokesman has now said the government would not appeal against the high court judgement which rejected attempts by ministers to keep the policy well away from the public until after the election

Ballantine Bush, a road sweeper in Newcastle upon Tyne said, “I pity those poor buggers who sweep the streets in London. It’s bad enough here with all the pollution. Then there’s the muck the politicians are spewing out. They should larn to keep their traps shut.”

When I pointed out that 64 deaths a day are caused by traffic pollution and that Mrs May didn’t want him to know this Ballantine became quite animated, shaking his fists and jumping up and down. “’Elth ‘nd safety, that’s what it is. ‘Elth ‘nd safety! Bastards!”
